Registration Open for Dye Hard 5K in Springfield

DAYTON, OH (WDTN) — Registration for the seventh annual Springfield 5K Colored Race is now open.

Dye Hard 5K is a race where participants are showered with colored powder while running or walking along a course.

The race will take place at the Clark County Fairgrounds located at 4401 S Charleston Pike in Springfield starting at 10:00 am on April 30th.

To register, the price is $35 until April 1st. Price increases to $40 from April 1st to April 14th and then to $45 on race day. Groups of six or more can receive a $6 discount per person.

“People who register before April 1st will receive a choice of a medal or a free shirt, color bag and souvenir bag,” race coordinator Melissa Baker said. “After April 1st, participants will receive a free medal, color bag, and gift bag.”

Fat Racks Smokin’ BBQ, Biscuit Boss and Southside Squeeze food trucks are scheduled for the race. Spectators are invited.

Proceeds from the event will benefit individuals with developmental disabilities in Clark County.
