Guide to Grilled Fish and Lenten Dinners in Columbus

As Lent approaches, many Christians will forego meat on Fridays and opt for seafood instead. One popular option for many this time of year is the classic fried fish.

Local churches and religious organizations are honoring a long tradition of fried fish and dinners during Lent, which this year runs from February 22 (or February 28 in the Eastern Orthodox Church) until mid-March. Not to mention, non-watchers can still enjoy convenience and often economical meals.

The following list, compiled by The Catholic Times, includes parishes and schools offering fried fish and meatless meals throughout the city and beyond. Check individual schools and wards for updates and additional information:

City center

ST. PATRICK CHURCH: 280 N. Grant Avenue, Columbus (Patrick Hall); from 17:00 to 19:00, on Fridays from February 24 to March 10 and March 24.

At 19:00, the Catholic service “Station of the Cross” will take place.

East side

ST. DOMINIC CHURCH: 453 N. 20th Street, Columbus; March 18 from 11:00 to 17:00

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: 4217 E. Main St., Whitehall; 17:30–19:30 from Friday to April 8

ST. CATHERINE CHURCH: 500 S. Gould Road; from 17:00 to 19:30 on Fridays, February 24, March 10 and 24.

North side of Columbus
