More than $170,000 of stolen equipment found in Dayton home
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — More than $170,000 worth of equipment was reported stolen from a career center in Montgomery County. The stolen items were subsequently discovered by the police.
The Englewood Police Department took to social media and announced that their detectives were investigating after equipment was stolen from the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) in Clayton.
On February 8, detectives executed a search warrant for a single-family home and detached garage on the 200 block of Calumet Lane in Dayton. When the police began to look around, they discovered the equipment stolen from MVCTC and returned it.
While executing a search warrant on the property, authorities discovered stolen equipment from other jurisdictions. Items from other jurisdictions were also seized.
The police report that several criminal cases have been initiated against the person involved in the case.
In a social media post, the police department thanks the officers who originally arrived on the scene, leads from an unnamed Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy and a detective’s job for working on the case.
