Percussion Quartet Performs Grammy-Nominated Multimedia Work in Akron

Sandbox Percussion is a quartet of musicians whose performances and collaborations rely on visual and auditory stimuli to engage the audience in classical music.

His 2021 album seven pillars was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Chamber/Small Ensemble Performance and Best Contemporary Classical. Evening work includes lighting, stage setting and a film accompanying each of the 11 parts of the work.

For the 2022–2023 season, Sandbox Percussion is playing Seven Pillar at venues in Europe and the US. This week he will be performing it at the University of Akron’s Guzzetta Hall in collaboration with Tuesday Musical and Miller’s Southern School of Visual and Performing Arts.
