While most of the North Texas residents got their power restored, some still remained without power over the weekend

North Texas – The winter storm once again caused power outages in the North Texas area, but the situation is way better compared to last winter’s major power crisis when thousands of people across the state of Texas were left without power for days.

The North Texas area was hit by the winter storm earlier this week and in some areas, residents were left without power. Most of these areas got power back, but other areas like Hunt County were still seeing power outages as of Saturday evening.

The First Baptist Church remained opened from Wednesday to accommodate all the people that didn’t have power during the winter storm. On Saturday, the doors were still open to accommodate those nearby that still didn’t have power.

The Bramletts couple who live in Farmersville, said to FOX 4 News they were left without power since Wednesday and they finally got power on Saturday. In addition to the power outages, they shut off the water every night, afraid of frozen pipes.

“It feels great to have electricity again,” David Bramlett said. “We are very tickled. Very thankful.”

At one point this week, their house dipped down into the 40s.

“[Saturday] was our third day and I was very panicked,” David said.

Just like thousands of other Texans, the Bramletts were heavily hit by the last year’s winter major power crisis. They were without electricity for several days, but the fourth day a pipe burst in their home causing even more problems.

On Sunday, the number of outages was decreasing and Oncor expects by the end of the day everything to be fully operational. Oncor added Hunt County was the hardest hit due to road conditions and ice accumulation causing extensive tree damage.
