While majority of the school districts in the North Texas area reopened on Tuesday, Covid-19 forces others to close and switch to virtual learning

Dallas, Texas – Majority of the school districts that closed last week due to high number of Covid-19 cases among students and staff resulting with staffing shortages, reopened on Tuesday.

However, the Omicron wave continues to spread and now forced some other districts to close and switch to virtual learning in an effort to slow down the spread of the virus.

According to multiple reports, all schools within Weatherford ISD, in Parker County, and in Lake Worth ISD, northwest of Fort Worth will be closed at least until the end of the week.

Both districts are set to reopen on Monday next week. Officials with the districts confirmed they are closing due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

As we already reported, more than 30 school districts closed last week and majority of them reopened on Tuesday.

Mansfield ISD, Northwest ISD and White Settlement ISD, all in Tarrant County, resumed classes Wednesday.

Few more school districts including Mesquite ISD are still closed because of staffing shortages.
