When will we finally get some more rain?

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Happy Hump Day, West Texas! Today was more of the same. Sunny skies with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s. The lack of cloud cover and calm winds will help us, once again, cool to the 50s overnight. Tomorrow, more locations could near the 90 degree mark, as the cold front approaches. It will move through the area on Friday, and highs will peak in the low to mid 80s after that. Rain chances are also on the rise as we head into next week, but it’s not associated with the cold front. An upper-level trough to our west will put West Texas in southwest flow early next week. This will result in isolated showers and thunderstorms (mainly across the western half of our viewing area). We’ll talk more about the details of this event as it draws closer. Over in the tropics, TD 12 is still barely holding on. It’s expected to reach the end of its life cycle overnight tomorrow. We’re paying special attention to the Caribbean sea, as invest 91L has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next five days. As always, we’ll update you as the forecast changes.
