Watch Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan’s latest speech on the state of the city
Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan will deliver his delayed and final address to the city Wednesday morning at a special roundtable event at Akron’s John S. Knight Center.
Horrigan, who is nearing the end of his second four-year term, is not up for re-election this year. The performance is scheduled for 7:30 am and is expected to be attended by about 1,000 people.
The performance was originally scheduled for August 17, but was postponed after Jayland Walker was fatally shot and killed by Akron police on June 27.
Horrigan’s second term was dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of the Walker shooting.
