Two Union Township officers hospitalized after being attacked by dogs

UNION TOWNSHIP (WXIX). Two officers were hospitalized with injuries from a dog attack on Saturday morning, Union Township Lieutenant Josh Hines said.

At about 10:15 a.m., officers responded to an argument from neighbors at a house located on the 500 block of Clough Pike and were attacked by a dog at the scene, Hines confirmed.

Union Township police say a gunshot was fired in the attack and the dog was fatally wounded.

One officer at the scene was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a second officer was taken to a local hospital and released, police said.

No further details have been released as the Union Township Police Department is currently investigating.
