Toledo Police: 63 murders in 2022, 26 remain unsolved

TOLEDO, OH (WTVG) – 2022 has been a brutal year for the city of Toledo, with 63 murders so far. 26 of those cases remain unsolved, including the murder of Travis Glenn.

Glenn was killed by an accidental drive-by shot in October. He was at his house on Upton with his girlfriend and three children when the bullets went through the walls.

His girlfriend, Alexis Quillen, was also hit by the bullet.

“Travis was so innocent,” Quillen said. “He was such a good person. He was an amazing person in every way. It’s been two months and I’m still in shock. I don’t think I still fully believe it.”

She said the last two months have been a nightmare for her and her children.

“My eldest is 8 years old and it really affects him very badly. He’s angry at the world,” Quillen said. “My daughter cries for her father every day. Not only do I feel only my pain, I have to feel it for all three of them.”

in 2023, Quillen hopes to see justice in her boyfriend’s case.

“I’m losing my patience. I mean, I know it takes time, but it looks like these people are still living their lives. Who knows who else might get caught in the crossfire over a senseless act,” Quillen said.

She said Toledo police were actively investigating Glenn’s murder but were still worried about what those responsible might do if they weren’t caught.

“Actually, I just spoke to the detective today and he said they found a lead,” Quillen said. “They claim they are working on it, so I just pray that they do what they have to do and get these people off the streets.”

Next year, she hopes she can face her boyfriend’s killer in court and see him go to jail forever.

“The most important thing for me is justice for me and my children. My 8-year-old son literally asks me every day: “Did they find my father’s killer?” I have to answer these questions,” Quillen said.
