AceShowbiz – Fans seem to see lessGame of ThronesA spin-off of the series in the future. Author George R.R. Martin revealed on his blog that a couple of potential spin-offs for the mega-hit medieval series have been “delayed” due to “all the changes to HBO Max”.

“The couple was shelved,” the 74-year-old writer wrote on his official blog on Wednesday, December 28. “But I wouldn’t accept that they’re dead. You can take something off the shelf just as easily as you can put it on the shelf.”

Fans shouldn’t get too upset because Martin noted that some other projects are still in development. “Some of them are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development,” he assured. “None have been greenlit yet, although we hope…maybe soon.”

Martin went on to say, “All the changes at HBO Max have certainly affected us.” He was most likely referring to the ongoing instability caused by Warner Bros. merged with Discovery Media to create Warner Bros. discovery. The company is taking bold steps by merging the Discovery+ HBO Max streaming catalogs.

Earlier it was reported that HBO is working on a lot of ideas to show more stories from the Game of Thrones universe. Among them is a spin-off, in the center of which Kit HaringtonJon Snow character. Another project is the Tales of Dunk and Egg series dedicated to Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and Aegon V Targaryen (Egg).

Planned spin-offs also include The Sea Serpent (previously called The Nine Voyages), which will center on Corlis Velarion, and 10,000 Ships, which follows Princess Nymeria, the ancestor of House Martell. HBO is also reportedly working on three animated series, one of which is called Golden Empire. The action will take place in the Yi Ti area, Martin’s version of Imperial China.

Martin did not specify which projects were shelved. Meanwhile, representatives from Martin and HBO/HBO Max have yet to comment on the matter.
