Texas police looking for mother who left her young children alone for 2 months

Police are looking for the mother of a 12-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy who were left alone for two months at their home in Roman Forest, Texas late last year. The mother, Raven Yates, is believed to be in the Mobile, Alabama area, the Texas Police said in a Facebook post.

According to the Roman Forest police, an arrest warrant was issued for two counts of leaving without intending to return.

Police said on November 14, 2022, the father of a 12-year-old girl called the police when he became concerned that the children were left at home alone. The father, who lives in California, told police he was ordering food from a Texas children’s home when family members told him that Yates was spotted alone in Mobile, Alabama.

According to officials, after the conversation, the father became suspicious that their mother left them alone in Texas, and after a call to the Roman Forest police, flew to Texas from California. When the police arrived at the house, they found the children alone inside without food or medicine.

“There was no food in the house. Everything was devastated, ”- the head of the Roman forest police. Stephen Carlyle told WEAU-TV. “There were some dried beans and some spices, that’s all.”

The house was left in a state of disrepair, police said, and the 3-year-old’s bedroom smelled strongly of urine.

According to investigators, the girl did not call the police because she was afraid that her father would take her away and leave her younger brother. According to police, the two children have different fathers.

Both children were not registered with the school, and police said they were alone from September 28 to November 14 — almost two months in a rented house in Texas.

“A 12-year-old can’t take care of a three-year-old for long,” Carlisle said. WEAU 13. “Is it dangerous”.

The two children are reported to be safe with family members in Mobile, Alabama, police said. Roman Forest Police are working with the Mobile Police to find the missing mother, police said.
