Ten people shot in the weekend’s mass shooting in South Dallas, police say the shooting victims were not the intended targets, report

Dallas, TX – Ten people were shot and injured, while one teenager remains in critical condition following the mass shooting incident in South Dallas in the early morning hours on Saturday.

According to the incident report, the mass shooting took place outside a venue off Botham Jean Boulevard on Saturday morning when 10 people, aged 15-21 years, were shot and injured. As per the report, there were more than 1,000 people at the time of the incident in what appeared to be a spring break party.

At this time, the shooters are still unknown to the police and no arrests have been made so far.

A total of ten people were shot and injured in the shooting incident and an 18-year-old, who was shot in the head, remains in critical condition in hospital.

The shooting happened outside the venue where the party took place when a riding car approached the crowd that was waiting outside, fired several shots in the air that then turned to shots at the crowd.

“Everybody panicking, panicking, panicking and the shooting still not stopping,” Kamaurion Crawford, one of those who attended the party recalled. “I was trying to help people here and there. The party was at capacity inside the building so everybody was just waiting outside,” Crawford said.

Someone who was outside returned the fire to the shooters. The police found more than 30 casings which confirms the “exchange of gunfire.”

The investigation about the incident is still ongoing. The police questioned numerous attendees, but the motive behind the mass shooting is still unclear. However, police believe the victims were not the intended targets.
