Teens For Christ reportedly laying off two employees

LIMA. Teens for Christ reportedly fired two employees who were placed on administrative leave in July, according to a brief letter sent to donors on Friday.

The letter did not mention which employees were laid off, and board members did not immediately return a call from Lima News to confirm the layoffs on Friday afternoon.

“As we enter the New Year, we are writing to inform you that the board of Teens For Christ has voted unanimously to terminate two people who were previously placed on administrative leave,” the board said in a letter. “We understand that GOD called them to this ministry and through them did much for HIS Kingdom.

“Our primary goal – our heart’s desire – WAS and CONTINUES to be “turning teenagers into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.” After much discussion and prayer, it became clear to us that the new leadership would best continue what GOD is doing through this ministry.”

The letter was signed by the TFC board, although the board members did not sign individually.

The TFC’s November newsletter said the board of directors will begin searching for a new ministry director for the Lima region in 2023, as the ministry intends to reopen its local offices next year.
