Pedestrian hit by NYPD car in Queens: sources
Law enforcement sources said the pedestrian died Friday night after she was hit by an NYPD car in Queens.
Sources said the police SUV was responding to a call from an assistance officer when it crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Beach Channel Drive and Beach 32nd Street in Far Rockaway around 8:30 p.m.
The police car then crashed into a parked car, jumped over a curb and hit the 52-year-old woman, the sources said.
The woman was taken to the nearest hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The NYPD did not immediately comment on the fatal crash.
Post-accident photos show an NYPD SUV colliding with a black sedan parked at the Beach Channel Mall.
Another white sedan with a damaged left headlight was parked in the center of the crosswalk.
