Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp Bet on Playoff Game Between Ohio State and Georgia (Video)
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) — Although sports betting won’t be legal until January 1, 2023, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine made an exception a day early with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp for Saturday’s high school football playoff game. .
The Peach Bowl, which will feature No. 4 in Ohio and No. 1 in Georgia on Dec. 31, sparked a friendly bet between the two governors.
DeWine, in his best Ohio state suit, offered some horse beer, root beer, and Ohio maple syrup.
Kemp answered the bet with Georgia-grown peaches, peanuts, and apple cider.
The Buckeyes and Bulldogs kick off at 8 p.m. in Atlanta at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on December 31st.
