Nikki Haley criticizes 2024 favorites: ‘It’s time for a new generation to lead’

Nikki Haley, a former UN ambassador to the Trump administration, fired a not-so-subtle shot at President Biden, 80, and former President Donald Trump, 76, saying it was time for “a new generation to lead.”

The slap came as Trump, kicking off the next phase of his 2024 presidential campaign on Saturday, unveiled his team of South Carolina leaders, including Gov. Henry McMaster and GOP Senator Lindsey Graham, leaving Palmetto State’s former governor Haley noticeably absent. on the stage

On the same day, Haley, who is expected to announce her own presidential candidacy shortly, tweeted her Fox News interview earlier this month.

“America’s survival matters,” she told Fox News.

“It’s more than one person. And when you look at America’s future, I think it’s time for a new generation. I don’t think you have to be 80 to be a leader in DC,” Hailey said. “I think we need the younger generation to come in and step up and really start making things right.”

She captioned the tweet: “It’s time to lead the next generation.”

In November, Trump announced he would be running a third presidential campaign, but Biden, 80, who has said he intends to run for re-election, has yet to officially announce his candidacy.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who is reportedly mulling his candidacy for the presidency, was also absent from the Trump rally.

But the former president was thinking of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is expected to be among the Republicans challenging Trump in the primary.

Trump pointed out how far he was ahead of DeSantis in the polls and took credit for the governor’s political success because of his support.

“If he runs away, that’s fine. I’m leading the polls,” Trump told The Associated Press after speaking in South Carolina.

“He will have to do what he wants, but he can escape. I really think it would be a big act of betrayal because, you know, I lured him in. He didn’t stand a chance. His political life is over,” Trump said.
