More than 100 puppies rescued from a single residence in Mesquite, report

Mesquite, TX – More than 100 puppies were rescued from a home in Mesquite, authorities confirm.

According to the Mesquite’s Animal Service Division, a total of 111 small breed puppies were rescued from the resident on Thursday.

The home owner, who initially refused to let the puppies, surrendered all the dogs and they were later taken to local shelters for immediate care.

Reportedly, multiple shelters decided to take the puppies to prevent only one shelter to overwhelmed and overcrowded.

“This was a successful rescue event, and we could not have done it without our hard-working City staff who acted quickly and with compassion, and our animal rescue partners,” said Maria Martinez, director of Mesquite Neighborhood Services.
