Missing doctor found dead under frozen pond surface in Michigan

A Michigan doctor who went missing on Christmas Eve was found dead Tuesday after a team of divers searched a frozen pond near his home.

Payan was seen leaving the house on foot after detectives were able to access his password-protected surveillance system. authorities said on Tuesday. A search of the surrounding area, including using K-9 dogs and drones, turned up no results.

A Jackson County diving team found Payan after digging holes in the surface of a frozen pond on his property to search for water. An autopsy is being performed by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
