Michigan man who threatened Biden and Whitmer charged with violating firearms regulations

March 11 (UPI) — Authorities say a Michigan citizen accused of threatening Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and President Joe Biden has been charged with illegal possession of multiple firearms.

Randall Robert Burke II allegedly posted threats against government officials online under the pseudonym “@killthefeds42” and on the YouTube channel “Elizabeth Husband,” FBI officials said. filed affidavit Friday in the US District Court in Bay City, Michigan.

Authorities claimed that Berka also made threatening comments about the LGBTQ+ community and dared law enforcement to take away his weapons by posting his home address online.

“Hey FBI! My name is Randall 2nd, I live in Sebewaing, Michigan, and I am ready to kill these people, ”he wrote in a sworn letter.

The agents said the comments were brought to their attention by Google, which sent an online tip to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Division.

Burke had mental health issues and was committed in 2012, prompting the state of Michigan to declare him incapacitated and bar him from legal possession of a firearm, authorities said.

According to the FBI, his mother Michelle told police that she bought four firearms for her son last year despite fears for her safety due to her son’s mental health issues.

The agents claimed that Berka’s mother told them that she was afraid of her son, didn’t think his ongoing mental illness treatment was working, and that she thought “he should be arrested and put in jail.”

Burke was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
