Michael Palacios, McDonald’s “axeman”, his dog was knocked off the scene in Manhattan.

A man who got into an ax fight last year at a McDonald’s restaurant on the Lower East Side was hit by a driver who was cycling through Manhattan on Friday night.

Michael Palacios was riding his cargo bike down Fifth Avenue with his dog Simba when the driver of the SUV hit them from behind and then sped away, according to surveillance video. posted on Instagram by Palacios.

The 32-year-old bicycle messenger said he was abusing the man behind the wheel before they rammed his car near East 50th Street shortly before 4:40 p.m.

“What happened? I told the bad driver that he drives like shit… I continued driving and he rammed me from behind,” wrote Palacios in the caption to the video.

Disturbing footage captured the SUV driving through the intersection and straight into the back of Palacios’ bike without slowing down.

Palacios fell off his bike and his dog Simba fell off the front before they both got up. The driver stops only after hitting them and waits for the Palacios to move off the road before pulling away – narrowly missing Simba, who was walking towards his owner, the footage shows.

“We didn’t deserve this,” Palacios wrote.

The NYPD confirmed a report of a hit-and-run on a cyclist on Friday at the same location, but could not confirm that Palacios was the victim, as the department does not identify non-fatal victims.

The police added that the victim received minor leg injuries, he was treated on the spot.

Palacios said his cargo bike took most of the impact and shared a photo of the crippled bike on Instagram.

“The great thing about cargo bikes is that they take 90% of the impact,” he said, adding that Simba wasn’t tied to the bike so he could move in a safe place.

He has since launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for a new cargo bike, raising almost $2,000 of his $5,000 target by early Wednesday.

Palacios went viral last September after he was caught on camera trashing a McDonald’s on Delancey after getting into an argument with three patrons at a fast food restaurant.

After the incident, he was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, three counts of threatening and two counts of illegal possession of a weapon.

A couple of days later, Palacios told The Post that he was not “upset” and only defended himself after three men hit him, adding that he never swung an ax at people, only at property.

The driver involved in the Friday crash remains at large.
