Miami Township car wash suspect caught on camera

CITIES OF MIAMI, Ohio (WXIX) – Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who attempted to steal from a car wash.

This happened on December 15 at around 10:30 pm and was caught on CCTV footage.

Miami City Police Detective. Hunter Willoughby says the incident upsets him.

“We don’t want any business in town to deal with this once, let alone multiple times.”

According to Willoughby, the man cut the wires, damaging the doors of the automatic car wash, and also damaged the coin-operated vacuum cleaner.

He is described as a man in a blue Carhart coat and black Sketcher sneakers.

The suspect’s car is a Chevrolet Traverse.

Nothing was stolen, but the owner of the car wash will need to rewire damaged parts and fix coin hoppers. Until then, they lose in business.

To make matters worse, the owner says he still needs to keep the car wash warm so it doesn’t freeze.
