Join 10TV as we ‘Go Red for Women’

This is a message that 10TV has proudly helped spread in the past, and this year is no exception.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — This month, 10TV joins forces with the American Heart Association to help spread the word about women’s heart health.

The Go Red for Women campaign aims to spread awareness about heart disease in women. According to the AHA, while most heart disease is preventable, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women, claiming the life of one in three women.

Join us in shining a light on women’s health and wear red on Friday, February 3rd.

• Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women, including new mothers.

• More than 44% of women aged 20 years and older are living with some form of cardiovascular disease.

• Women are less likely than men to receive cardiopulmonary resuscitation bystander and are less likely to experience out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest.

• As of 2020, only 38% of participants in cardiovascular clinical trials were women.

The AHA also hosts an annual “Women’s Red Experience” to educate women about these deadly diseases. Since 2004, the AHA has helped millions of women share prevention information and advice while working to close the racial gap in health care.

This is a message that 10TV has proudly helped spread in the past, and this year is no exception.

You can join 10TV’s Yolanda Harris at the AHA Go Red for Women Luncheon on February 16th by texting “MY SUPPORT” to 614-450-3345.

This year’s theme, “Stay on the Rhythm,” will focus on impactful, local association-funded research to improve maternal health outcomes, tools and information to help Columbus improve CPR education and performance for women.

Throughout February, the campaign’s national sponsor, CVS Health, is offering free heart health screenings at MinuteClinic locations nationwide. For more information, visit GoRedforWomen.org.
