Interstate 71 northbound closed in Medina County due to crash

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio. Interstate 71, located south of State Route 83 in Medina County, was closed due to an accident Friday night, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

Emergency crews are on the scene, but it is not yet known when the highway will reopen.

Drivers are advised to use SR 539 – SR 83 to continue on I-71. They are also asked to avoid the area if possible.

According to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, minor injuries were sustained during the accident.

The Ohio State Highway Authority is investigating.
