Imagination Station Announces January Events

TOLEDO, OH (WTVG) – Imagination Station has announced events that will be taking place at the Science Center throughout January.

January events are as follows:

The Science of Guinness World Records

  • Families now have extra time to discover the world’s great record holders, which it took to cement their names in the history books and perhaps become part of history themselves!
  • Extended until April

Now showing: KeyBank Discovery Theater

  • NEW: Oceans: Our Blue Planet 3D
    • New ocean technology has allowed us to dive further into the unknown than ever before. From coastal shallows to deeper and more mysterious worlds, we uncover fascinating stories of life underwater.
  • Backyard Desert 3D
    • The film features many images and behaviors of wildlife captured by cameras set inside dens and nests moving across the forest floor and the bottom of the bond.

Work in the IDEA laboratory – Papertronics

  • The entire month
  • Free on admission
  • Make your own e-greeting card in just a few easy parts. Copper tape, a coin cell battery, an LED, and a piece of paper is all you need.

January 1st – Celebrate the first day of 2023

  • from 12:00 to 17:00
  • Free on admission
  • Experiment with circuits and programmable robots in the Coding Corner on Imagination Station.

January 2 – special hours

  • Open from 10:00 to 17:00

January 7 and 8 – Rubik’s Cube Contest.

  • The World Cube Association will host a two-day Rubik’s Cube Tournament at Imagination Station. Watch some of the best compete against each other to solve the world’s most famous puzzle.

January 11 – Seminars at home

  • Chemistry: K-3 classes
    • Become a chemist and discover substances with strange and wonderful properties by experimenting with physical and chemical changes, as well as exothermic and endothermic chemical reactions.
  • Robotics: Grades 4-8
    • Discover the world of robotics by learning about their features and details. Then practice programming the robot to complete the task!
  • Seats are available for both morning and afternoon sessions. You can book places here.

January 16 – School is over, we are open!

  • Martin Luther King Jr Day
  • Imagination Station is open from 10:00 to 17:00.

January 28 – Gaming Tournament

  • Doors open at 5:00 pm and brackets start at 5:30 pm.
  • Competitors will bring their own game systems, monitors and controllers to battle it out. Guilty Gear: Strive, Guilty Gear Xrd REV2 and Super Smash Bros. ultimate. The final will take place on the GIANT screen of the KeyBank Discovery Theatre.

Imagination Station reports that on Saturdays, all Lucas County residents receive a $2 rebate and free admission for children under 12 with paid admission for adults. No more than two children per adult.
