Idaho murder case: Search warrant lists items seized from suspect Brian Kochberger’s apartment

A reddish-brown stained pillowcase, strands of hair, and one nitrite-type black glove were among the items that Washington State University police seized from the apartment of Brian Kochberger, the man accused of killing four college students who were killed in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho , according to a search warrant printed Wednesday.

A dog that belonged to one of the victims, 21-year-old Caylee Goncalves, and her ex-boyfriend was found at a Moscow residence when local police officers initially arrived at the scene, the search warrant documents say, and dog hair was one of them. items that the police hoped to find during a search of Kochberger’s apartment.

A more elusive item was the murder weapon, which the police have yet to find. However, the search warrant stated that on November 13, 2022, an empty scabbard was found at or near the body of 21-year-old Madison Mogen at the crime scene.

In a search warrant application, investigators detailed that the house on King Road where the murders took place had a significant amount of blood splatter, which occurs when drops are ejected due to heavy traffic. Police suspected that blood might be found on Kochberger’s body, clothes or shoes, the warrant says.
