She said that she specifically asked her designer and craftsman add a piece of blue fabric between the gorgeous stitches of the dress. Apparently, it was because of the blue dress that Markle wore on her first date with Prince Harry. It was a blind date set up by a mutual friend at Soho House in London. The second tribute was that which was hidden under her veil. It was a little personal for the Duchess as the material had nothing to do with the British Commonwealth, but the special significance of the place where she was born and raised.. She chose California poppy to make up her veil, which was 53 flowers representing the 53 countries of the Commonwealth of Great Britain.
