Guy married the love of his life, Edna (More) Hitchcock, on August 2, 1958. Guy loved his grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren (Brielle, Hunter, Zacharias, Ezekiel Matson and Eleanor Jackson) with whom he enjoyed spending time and building furniture. Guy grew up in agriculture, collecting trees for maple syrup, building houses as a carpenter, and running building supply stores. The scriptures, music, and prayers have comforted him during his health struggles, and he has longed to be with his beloved in heaven since she began her eternity in heaven just six short weeks ago. As a young man, Guy had the nickname “Sonny”; this is not surprising, because his smile and warm heart always lit up the room. His smile and joy are visible in his children and grandchildren. He loved peasant life, hunting, horses, and was exceptionally skilled in carpentry and woodworking. The greatest achievement he poured out into the world was his love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Guy and Edna attended a church between Blessed Hope Church and First Baptist Church in Asheville, Ohio. Visitation will take place Monday, January 2, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am memorial service at Oliver Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.
