“Great value to be together”

Disney (DIS) CEO Bob Iger is back — as are the company’s demands for an office.

According to an internal memo obtained by Yahoo Finance, Iger told Disney hybrid employees they would be required to be in the office at least four days a week starting March 1. From Monday to Thursday, preference will be given to a personal working day.

CNBC first reported on the distribution of the Iger memo.

“As I have been meeting with teams across the company over the past few months, I have been reminded of the great value of being together with the people you work with,” Iger wrote.

“As you have heard me say so many times, creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney. And in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to communicate, observe, and create with colleagues. it comes from the fact that they are physically together, or from the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors, ”the memorandum says. “I believe that more personal collaboration will benefit the creativity, culture and careers of our employees.”

Eiger, who will face several strategic business issues in the new year, stressed the importance of culture and creativity after returning to the CEO position in November.

The chief executive quickly reversed elements of his predecessor’s strategy, including the firing of Karim Daniel and the restructuring of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution (DMED), one of former CEO Bob Chapek’s first major changes.

Yeager also reportedly expressed concern about Čapek’s unfavorable price increases at the company’s theme parks. While it’s unlikely that Iger will cancel the price increase in the new year, Disney fans may see a reduction in the number of increases in 2023.

Other senior executives such as Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook and JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon have also expressed a preference for office attendance for hybrid and remote work.
