Ghislaine Maxwell says the photo of Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre is fake.

Disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has said a famous photo of the Duke of York next to Virginia Giuffre is fake.

Maxwell, 61, who was convicted of sex trafficking, has previously questioned the authenticity of a photo said to have been taken at her Mayfair home showing Andrew hugging Giuffre with Maxwell in the background.

Speaking from prison in the US, Maxwell said she was “sure” the photo was not real.

In an interview with TalkTV due to air on Monday night, Maxwell said: “It’s fake. I don’t believe for a second that this is real, in fact I’m sure it isn’t.”

She added, “Well, there was never an original, much less a photograph, and I’ve only seen a photocopy.”

Andrew also questioned the authenticity of the portrayal of him with Ms. Giuffre, formerly known as Virginia Roberts.

The Duke paid millions to settle a civil sexual harassment case against Ms Giuffre, a woman he claimed he had never met.

According to reports in The Sun on Sunday and the Mail on Sunday, Andrew is now considering what legal options are available to him regarding the application to vacate the settlement.

Ms Giuffre sued him for allegedly sexually abusing her when she was 17 after she was sold by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell’s former partner.

Andrew denied the allegations.

The Duke has previously stated that he “doesn’t remember” meeting Giuffre and questioned the photo, claiming he is “not the type to cuddle” or “show affection” in public.

In a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew said that while he recognized himself in the photo with Ms Giuffre, he stated that it was impossible to prove whether the image was a fake.

He also claimed that the photograph could not have been taken in London, as he was in his “travel clothes”.

Ms Giuffre told BBC Panorama the photo was “genuine” and said she turned the original over to the FBI in 2011.

Maxwell questioned the authenticity of the photograph in the testimony.

The story goes on

She said the surroundings in the photo looked “familiar” but also said, “We can’t pinpoint the photo and all,” adding, “I don’t know if it’s true, if it’s a real photo or not. ”

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year after a jury found her guilty of luring young girls into massage parlors to molest Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at a Manhattan federal prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

The death was ruled a suicide.

Jeremy Kyle Live: Ghislaine Behind Bars will air Monday night on TalkTV at 7pm.
