The national average, meanwhile, is $3.33 a gallon, after a smaller decline of just 4.3 cents.

“The national average has resumed its decline after a pause last week when wholesale oil and gasoline prices fell amid worrisome inflation data suggesting the Fed is likely to hike rates to slow inflation,” said Patrick De Haan. , head of oil analysis at GasBuddy. “About nine out of 10 states have seen declines in the past week, so most countries across the country are seeing declines, with the exception of the West Coast, where the switch to summer blends continues, and the Great Lakes, where prices have been cyclical. last week, but have now resumed declines. For the coming weeks, tradition tells us to expect prices to eventually rise, but this could be at least partly offset by inflation data that continues to be hotter than expected, raising concerns that the Fed will raise interest rates and significantly cool the economy and demand for oil.”
