Acane was one of only three runners to clock under 4.4.

INDIANAPOLIS. Former Fort Bend running back Marshall and Missouri City player Devon Achane showed off his burners on Sunday.

The Texas A&M runner ran 40 yards in 4.32 seconds at his final field practice at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. He was one of three riders with times under 4.4. The others were Jameer Gibbs of Alabama (4.36) and Keaton Mitchell of East Carolina (4.37).

Former Texas Longhorns star running back Bizhan Robinson, widely expected to be the first back draft pick in the NFL Draft this year, finished fifth in his group with a 4.46 score.

Acane, who was named the 2019 Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year, entered the 2023 NFL Draft in December.

Offensive linemen and running backs were the last of the 319 competitors pooled for drills.

Chase Brown of Illinois had the highest high jumps (40 inches) and long jumps (10 feet 7 inches) of the day, while Taija Spears of Tulane was second in the vertical jump (39 inches) and third in the long jump (10 inches). -5), while East Carolina’s Keaton Mitchell was second in the long jump (10-6) and third in the vertical jump (38 inches).

Georgia tackle Broderick Jones finished in the top 40 among linemen with 4.97 seconds, while former Brigham Young College tackle Blake Freeland and Oklahoma’s Anton Harrison tied for second with 4.98 seconds.

Stanford wide receiver Michael Wilson had the most prone reps (23) in his position group on Sunday. Brenton Strange and Zach Kunz, former teammates at Penn State, led the way with 23 reps. Koontz moved to Old Dominion last year.
