Former Atlanta Braves legend Ryan Klesko is selling a bungalow on a private island in Florida

Former big league player Ryan Klesko sold four bungalow on his private island in Florida’s begging area. The former batter owns the island with an anonymous business partner.

Black’s Island, as you know, is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and was discovered by Captain James Black almost 200 years ago. The island is said to have a legendary pirate history.

Today, the seven-acre island near Port St. Joe, Florida is only accessible by boat or helicopter. It offers 26 cozy bungalows on the shores of St. Joseph Bay.

Facilities for island residents include a clubhouse, cabana and spa pool. The island will soon have restaurants and access to the Mainland Black’s Hotel, which will be completed in late 2023.

The cedar boardwalk that connects the bungalows adds a Tahitian feel to the entire area. Right now, four bungalows are available for ownership, with the rest due on the market later this year.

“This hotel offers an incredible experience,” says Klesko. “There are rabbits, turkeys and peacocks. You can go fishing, kayaking, paddle surfing, kayaking; and all this just a five minute boat ride from the mainland. This area of Florida was once considered the “forgotten coast”, but it is still of great value.”

So, what kind of buyers is the former first baseman hoping to attract with his island vacation?

“A lot of the people who come here to rent come from Panama City Beach or the Destin area and just want to get away,” he says. “You can just hitch up your boat and run away with your family. It’s a place where you can easily escape, but still retains a small town feel. You could live there all year round if you wanted to. It’s just a pretty cool environment.”
