Fatal accident – 40-year-old man died in an accident in the town of Jefferson involving two semi-trailers

CITY OF JEFFERSON – Wilmington The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three-vehicle crash that killed one person. The accident occurred on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at approximately 8:51 AM on Interstate 71 South in Jefferson Township, Greene County.

A preliminary investigation found that a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Ralphinia E. Rose, 63, of Providence, Kentucky, was driving south on Interstate 71 near Mile 60 when her vehicle collided with a 2010 Honda Civic run by Tiffany J. Miller, 40, Marion. The Honda was then crammed into the back of a 2015 International road train driven by 61-year-old Weldon Bisden, Norwalk. Miller died at the scene from his injuries.

Rose had an underage passenger who was taken from the scene in an ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Bisden and Rose suffered minor injuries and were treated on the spot.

A patrol to the scene was assisted by the New Jasper Township Fire Department, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, and the Greene County Coroner’s Office.
