Detectives investigate fatal shooting involving cop Everett

The Skagit and Island County Interagency Response Team is investigating a fatal shooting involving Police Officer Everett.

The shooting occurred at Site 91 Southwest and Site 8 West in Everett.

Neighbors say that around 1:30 a.m., special forces yelled at the man to surrender.

KIRO7 spoke to a neighbor who lives next door to the shooting site. The neighbor did not want to be named and says she is still very shocked by the situation.

“First of all, we heard how the police were actively working outside, and we urged our neighbor to come out with their hands up and nothing in their hands,” the neighbor said.

The woman says that the couple moved into the house about three years ago and since then they have become very close.

“Uh-huh, we heard shots. Well, I thought I heard three, but my husband said he heard five,” the neighbor said.

Detectives worked on the scene for several hours, some of them knocking on doors and talking to several neighbors.

This is an evolving story.
