These licenses can be purchased at different intervals, as shown below.

  • one (1) year tag: $20
  • three-year (3) tag: $60
  • permanent lifetime tag: $200

Lost dogs can easily be returned to their rightful owners with a dog license. These licenses provide for longer stray stays (up to 14 days instead of 72 hours) if a lost dog ends up in a Cuyahoga County shelter.

Dog licenses can be purchased at your local Discount Drug Mart, Pet Supply Plus, Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, or online at cuyahogadogs.com.

The Cuyahoga County Animal Sanctuary is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

License fees support the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter by providing the necessary funds to temporarily house stray dogs before they are reunited with their owners or accepted into new homes.
