Crime Stoppers offer reward for information on Moxham murder

Jan 25 – Cumbria County Crime Squad is offering a reward for helping find the shooter who shot a man in the Moxham area of ​​Jonestown on Monday.

The Cumbria County Crime Service is offering up to $2,000 for any information leading to an arrest. Number to call: 1-800-548-7500. Callers can remain anonymous.

The shooting occurred around 2:00 p.m. on the 600 block of Park Avenue near St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church and Park Avenue School in Greater Johnstown.

Authorities found a man in his 40s in a car, dead from multiple shots.

The identity of the deceased man was made public on Tuesday. Cumbria County Coroner Geoffrey Leese told The Tribune-Democrat that the autopsy was still being performed as of the evening.

The press conference will take place Wednesday at 10:00 am at the coroner’s office in the Central Park complex in downtown Jonestown.

After the shooting, the suspect ran towards Coleman Avenue. He is described as a light-skinned black man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. According to police, he was wearing a black shirt.

Police released photos of the suspect on Tuesday.

Shortly after the incident, Jonestown police issued a stop and hold order across all departments in Cumbria County against a red SUV carrying two people suspected of being armed and dangerous. The order was later withdrawn.
