‘Celebrity IOU: Joyride’ Host Ant Anstead Is Reportedly Revved Up To Sell His $3.3M Laguna Beach Cottage

Ant Anstead, host of  “Celebrity IOU: Joyride,” is reportedly speeding away from his coastal cottage in Laguna Beach, CA. The three-bedroom, two-bath abode is available for $3,330,000.

Anstead, a car nut, bought the home for $2.8 million in 2021, about a year after his split from Christina Haack of HGTV’s “Flip or Flop,” according to People magazine.

The 1,968-square-foot cottage was built in 1929 and sits on a 6,925-square-foot lot above Woods Cove. It features views of Catalina Island and the coast.

The cottage spans two levels, with a kitchen and living space on each floor, and could be set up as a rental property.

“The entry moment with its breathtaking ceiling makes this property very special,” Azita Sadeghi of Compass, who is representing the listing, tells Realtor.com®. “My hope is the home is preserved for another century in all its glory as a nod to this very special and historic beach community.”

The vintage property does feature some updates, including the second-level kitchen. There’s now a farmhouse-style sink, Wolf range, open shelving, skylights, and butcher block countertops. Both bathrooms feature free-standing tubs for a luxe ambiance.

The thoughtful updates also sought to preserve the original wood flooring and board-and-batten walls throughout the cottage.

The vaulted and beamed ceiling in the second-level living room offers an open aesthetic and a feeling of spaciousness.

‘Charming and authentic’

The town of about 23,000 residents hugs the Pacific Coast and boasts a quaint village within walking distance. Homes here have a median listing price of $3,395,000, so Anstead’s cottage is right in that sweet spot.

“Finding a charming and authentic Laguna Beach home is really hard to find,” says Sadeghi. “You don’t really see this type of cottage these days. Finding one with a great plot [with an] established front yard that also oozes character is even rarer as development in Laguna continues at [a fast] pace.”

After Anstead and Haack split in 2020, after 21 months of marriage, Haack dumped the Newport Beach, CA, house that they shared and renovated together. It was eventually sold for $5,300,000.

Haack also sold her postdivorce pad in Orange County, CA, for $11.5 million—just eight months after she bought it for $10.3 million, according to the New York Post. She’s since picked up a posh property in Newport Beach.

Anstead was co-host of “Wheeler Dealers,” which aired on the Discovery Channel in the U.K. and MotorTrend in the U.S.
