Busy weekend ahead for Columbus businesses with New Year’s Eve Buckeyes game
HILLIARD, Ohio. With the Buckeyes at the Peach Bowl on the same night as New Year’s Eve, Columbus bars and restaurants are in for a busy weekend.
Some owners predict that this will be one of the busiest nights of the year.
“We are going to do it all. We’re going to have the NYE and the Buckeyes game at the same time,” said Frank Propheta, co-owner of Nasty’s Sports Bar in Hilliard.

At Roosters in Dublin, all prep work revolves around the wings.
“I just spoke to Jordan who runs the kitchen and he has 70 cases of wings that he plans to sell tomorrow,” said Dan Ponton, owner of Roosters. “They’re just wings, not boneless, so that’s just over 16,000 wings in one day.”
Roosters is served on a first come first served basis and people are expected to start posting after the doors open at 11am.
“We don’t have enough space for everyone, but we do tons of takeaway food,” Ponton said.
Bar reservations at Nasty’s are available for $100. All proceeds will go to help Therapy K9s at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
