Blackstone Appoints Brad Marshall to New Global Head of Private Lending Strategies

Brad Marshallthe senior managing director, has been appointed to a new position as global head of private lending strategies after nearly two decades with the firm, Kate Holderness, spokeswoman for Blackstone, said in an email.

“Over the past five years, Blackstone Credit and our BDC have experienced incredible growth,” said Dwight Scott, global head of Blackstone Credit, in a press release.

In the same time, Jonathan Bock joined Blackstone as co-CEO of two Blackstone business development companies, Blackstone Private Credit Fund and Blackstone Secured Lending Fund. He will work alongside Mr. Marshall, who was the sole CEO of two Blackstone BDCs.

Mr. Bock was the CEO of Barings BDC, a business development company. Bock stepped down as CEO of Barings BDC on December 16 and was replaced by Eric Lloydaccording to the SEC filing.

“Mr. Bock has been a significant partner to our BDC team, as well as to our broader investment teams,” Barings said in a statement to the SEC.

Blackstone’s lending business manages $234 billion in assets.
