Akron Soul Train Printed Multimedia Show Covers Big Topics

Akron Soul Train New Show, state of grace, presents the work of multidisciplinary artist David Maynard, who, in their words, “carries the duality of human nature and experience through the themes of life and death, spiritualism and materialism, overexcitation and self-soothing, grace and cruelty.” Art exhibitions these days are nothing short of ambitious!

Maynard addresses this cornucopia of themes through large-scale stencils and painted work, constantly using symbols such as crosses and birds.

In addition, dark humor is present in some of the works, such as the upholstered electric chair sculpture by Louis Vuitton.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, March 16 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm and the first 20 people will receive a free Maynard printout. The show will be available to watch until Saturday, April 22.
