A woman has been convicted of a 2020 shooting that injured two Franklin County deputies.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman who was charged with the 2020 murders of two Franklin County sheriff’s deputies was found guilty on all counts Friday, according to the Franklin County Attorney’s Office.
Monica Justice, 56, was found guilty in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas of multiple felonies, including four counts of assault and two counts of possession of a weapon while on disability.
On July 21, 2020, Justice reportedly shot and killed two deputies, provoking a standoff with SWAT officers that lasted several hours. She was arrested after the incident.
Justice was initially charged by a grand jury with two counts of assault and two counts of possession of a weapon while disabled. Two additional charges of serious assault were brought against two other deputies who were on the porch at the time the other two deputies were shot dead.
