A bus and van collision in upstate New York killed six people and seriously injured three.

Six people were killed and three seriously injured in Louisville, New York, in a crash Saturday involving a 2021 Freightliner van and a 2013 express bus, according to the New York State Police.

Police responded to the fatal crash on State Highway 37 around 6:02 am. A Lawrence County medical examiner also arrived at the scene.

All the victims were on the express bus, the police said in a statement. Of the three wounded, one is in critical condition, two are “seriously wounded.”

The injured were taken to local hospitals.

“State Highway 37 from County Route 14 to Coles Creek Road in Louisville, St. Lawrence County, is closed until further notice due to a fatal accident involving a bus and box truck,” State Police said. tweeted later on Saturday.

This is an ongoing investigation, police said.
