2 accused of burglary

March 4th. Two residents of Odessa have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries committed back in November.

According to a report from the Odessa Police Department, on February 9, a FLOCK camera captured the license plate number of a stolen Hyundai Sonata used in several burglaries and tracked the car to a gas station in Yukon’s 100th block.

The report says that inside the car, the police found a lot of stolen property and Roger Quincy Risher, who approached the suspect in the burglary case.

An officer obtained a search warrant for a house in the 8300 block of Golder Avenue, where another stolen vehicle was found along with several other stolen items, including the keys to a separate stolen vehicle, the report said.

According to the report, the man at the residence, Abel Abila, admitted to committing several burglaries with Risher.

Arrest warrants have been obtained for Abila and Risher in connection with the Ford Explorer stolen in November, car thefts on January 12 and 13, and multiple car thefts on February 2 and 7. In addition, Risher was arrested. for the alleged theft of a GMC Sierra Denali on 7 February.

According to the report, the men had identifying information belonging to 14 people, and in at least two cases credit cards belonging to two people were used without their consent.

Risher was incarcerated in the Ector County Jail on suspicion of nine counts of auto theft, two counts of burglary of a building, and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, participation in organized crime, attempted robbery of a building, theft. $2,500 to $30,000 worth of property, theft of property, and fraudulent use of identifying information.

He remains in custody on bail totaling $152,500.

Abila was arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary and one count of participating in organized crime and attempting to rob a building. He was also taken into custody on three warrants not to appear, providing false information, and arresting a US Marshal. He is no longer in the Ector County Jail.
